Visby, a historic gem on the Swedish island of Gotland, could reinvent itself as a super green and ecofriendly town by 2100 through radical political reforms, social reorganization, and sustainable water transport systems. The transformation could begin with a localized, community-driven political structure where decisions are made democratically through citizen assemblies. These assemblies could focus on creating policies that prioritize ecological well-being, such as banning fossil fuels, incentivizing permaculture farming, and implementing a zero-waste strategy.
